Jeff Porcaro

The first post on this new blog of mine must be about Jeff's half time shuffle groove.
As you may have guessed from the choice of this video, I am the kind of person who really values music and taste in a drummer, much more than technique and rudiments.
In my opinion, Jeff Porcaro was a great musician before being a great drummer and if you don't agree.. try watching the video and listen to the ghost notes he plays on the snare drum in this groove and then let me know.
